Folklore

Linocuts are a relatively new way of working for me, and I find that this medium suits the subject of Folklore perfectly. Many of us are familiar with images like these from old fairy tale books, and stories that are hundreds of years old. I find it a very rewarding process. Working with lino is similar in some respects to working with dip pen, in that the media lends something of itself to the creative process, and this is something I also really enjoy. Some of these images are inspired by folktales; the landscapes and characters of popular mythology, and some were inspired by supposedly true events.
